A proud father & husband with strong ties to Carling
My wife, Barbara, and I have been residents for over 16 years on an island near Killbear Park and, when younger, spent many summer vacations camping in the Park.
We are members of the Pengally Bay Ratepayers Association.
Barbara and I also reside in Wasaga Beach. We have two adult children, both successful, one of whom serves her country in the Royal Canadian Navy.
A proven leader
I am a retired executive with over 35 years experience in international capital markets including as the Chief Operating Officer of the Global Banking and Markets Division of a major Canadian bank.
I have put together and led many diverse teams to build and grow complex businesses in major financial centres around the world.
I have been successful because I seek input, listen carefully, think things through, take the initiative, and get things done -- the right things, the right way.
Serving the community
I presently serve the community of Wasaga Beach by sitting on the Board of Wasaga Distribution Inc., the local electric utility, and on the Audit and Finance Committee of the corporate group.
I am willing and eager to offer my time, experience, and expertise to the communities of Carling and the greater West Parry Sound area.
Rural Roots
I grew up "out in the bush" outside of Bancroft, Ontario--farming, raising wolfhounds, riding school buses , and taking in the incredible pastoral beauty of the countryside.
I know very well what life is like in small rural communities--rich and rewarding but not always easy for everyone, and very hard for some.
I have been told by some of my closest friends that I stand up for the little guy, and that is true.
